We are looking to recruit someone with experience in water/ hydrogeology/ hydrology/ data management/ document control to join our client's Construction Water team as a Water Specialist. With a focus on delivering monitoring data and consent compliance reports to the stakeholders.
The role of Water Specialist is primarily a technical role that will ensure compliance through regular review and interpretation of surface and groundwater monitoring data. The Water Specialist identifies changes in data trends and proactively looks to identify the root cause of this with the Water Specialist and Environment Teams. Responsible for communicating/ presenting data and technical information from multiple sources to ensure they are aware of any breaches to consent and updating them with any associated action plan that may have been put in place to resolve an issue, with all relevant outcomes.
Occasional travel can be expected as part of the role. With an expectation to be present both in the office and occasional on site to carry out inspections of the monitoring network (well points and stilling wells) to ensure accessibility and condition of monitoring points and equipment. In addition, to ensure water-related risks are addressed and provide specialist input on water-related impacts and risks. This role will require regular working in the office.
Accountabilities:
- Instrumental in the production of Quarterly Reports for Consents.
- Work with the environmental and sustainability team to deliver documents (Quarterly Reports, Ground water Risk Assessment, Acrylamide Use, Monitoring Plans).
- Reviewing of required consented and permitted monitoring.
- QA/QC of data collection and documents.
- Submission of water monitoring data.
- Liaising with sublot Water Specialist / Environment Managers during incident responses
- Specialist input into site specific monitoring plans.
- Specialist input into site specific groundwater risk assessments Liaising with specialist teams for drilling new monitoring wells.
- Liaising with sub-contractors to ensure monitoring requirements are met and for installation and maintenance of still wells.
- Undertaking other reasonable duties appropriate to the role and in support of the wider environment / water team.
