The Role
Our client, a leading Multidisciplinary consultancy in the built environment, is seeking a Senior Engineer - Security to join their London Smart Building Team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an innovative organisation that values collaboration and forward-thinking approaches. The successful candidate will design and implement security solutions across multiple sectors, including commercial, residential, hotels, retail, industrial, laboratories, and data centres. Reporting to the Section Manager, you will be instrumental in delivering high-quality security engineering and engaging with clients.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and implement electronic security systems, including access control, intruder detection, CCTV, duress systems, and intercoms.
* Develop security management systems and physical security measures such as perimeter security, building protection, and vehicle access systems.
* Conduct security risk assessments and implement crime prevention strategies and undertake SABRE assessments.
* Lead business development efforts to secure new projects and expand industry networks.
* Manage client security meetings and workshops.
* Collaborate with architects, engineers, and clients in project design meetings.
* Conduct condition audits of existing buildings and provide technical reports.
* Oversee project finances and resource management.
* Assist with cyber security advisory services.
* Perform inspections and witness testing with security contractors and clients.
* Engage in research and development to enhance security documentation.
Requirements
* Minimum five years experience in security engineering.
* Relevant tertiary qualification and/or equivalent experience.
* Proven ability in business development and securing projects.
* Experience commissioning security system installations.
* Strong technical knowledge in IT, cyber security, and networks.
* Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time management skills.
