Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Revit Technician to join our client's Building Services team in Leeds. The successful candidate will play a key role in producing high-quality Building Information Modelling (BIM) designs and technical drawings for a range of building services projects. This position is ideal for an individual with strong proficiency in Revit, a keen interest in the building services sector, and a collaborative mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
- Revit Modelling: Develop and manage Revit models for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, including coordination with other disciplines (architectural, structural, etc.).
- BIM Coordination: Ensure that all building services designs are aligned with BIM standards and project requirements, and assist in resolving clashes between different systems using Navisworks or other clash detection tools.
- Technical Drawings: Produce detailed and accurate technical drawings and schematics for MEP systems using Revit, ensuring all designs meet industry standards, regulations, and client specifications.
- Project Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, designers, and project managers to ensure seamless integration of services and timely project delivery.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct regular checks on Revit models and drawings to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with project requirements.
- Client Liaison: Participate in meetings with clients and contractors as necessary to discuss project progress, modifications, and technical solutions.
- Documentation: Maintain clear and organised project documentation, including design reports, specifications, and construction details.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in Revit and BIM technologies and contribute to process improvements within the team.
Key Requirements:
- Experience: Proven experience as a Revit Technician within the building services sector, with a strong understanding of MEP systems and BIM processes.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and other relevant software (Navisworks, BIM 360, etc.).
- Knowledge: A solid understanding of building services engineering principles, building regulations, and industry standards (e.g., RIBA, CIBSE).
- Qualifications: A relevant qualification in Building Services, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or similar (e.g., HNC/HND, BEng).
- Attention to Detail: Strong ability to create accurate, high-quality models and drawings.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with project teams and clients.
- Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with other BIM software tools, such as AutoCAD MEP or Revit MEP.
- Familiarity with industry software for energy modelling or performance analysis (e.g., IES, Hevacomp).
