Project Officer
*Local Council*
*1 day per week on site, 4 days remote*
The role
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced project officer to work on a major rail / infrastructure project for a local council.
This role will work with the lead officer to ensure that the Rail Line project is delivered successfully, through effective administration, maintenance of information, supporting the management of programme and project plans and reporting and escalation of risks and issues.
Key Duties:
- Provide co-ordination to complex, cross cutting project work, through collaborative working with colleagues from the City, County Council and delivery partners.
- Coordinate the running of key CBL project functions to enable the smooth running of Project Board, Programme Panel and the Project's working groups.
- To collaborate with others across the organisation to ensure participation in this stage of the CBL Project.
- To support the lead officer in continuing to build capacity and capabilities for the successful delivery of the CBL project (Full Business Case and the Infrastructure Place Study work streams).
- To assist in the review of the project reports at each stage of the project programme process, providing challenge and support where needed.
- To track the project programme, maximising the use of dynamic data analytics and digital tools to streamline
- Budeget monitoring / project mlestone tracking
Key Skills and Experience:
- Experience of project and/or programme management
- Demonstrating strong co-ordination skills and ability interrogate data sets, produce and present monitoring and management report
- Excellent analytical and decision-making skills with ability to analyse complex issues and identify and implement effective solutions
- Excellent communication skills with an ability to build and maintain great relationships at all levels by influencing and clearly articulating messages to a variety of audiences
- Experience of researching, collating, and analysing capital project-related and other data
- Evidence of leading, supporting and implementing the delivery of projects or initiatives in any transferable discipline.Experience working in Local Government or on Network rail projects would be an advantage
