The role:
- The primary responsibility will be to undertake on-site measured surveys of mainly Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian traditional heritage street properties in order to produce accurate, annotated scaled AutoCAD drawings, elevations, floorplans and sections - as existing and as proposed - required to accompany full plans planning applications and Listed Building Consent applications.
- This is in association with an ongoing rolling programme of mainly window replacements.
- The role will also require a good knowledge of legislation and regulations around heritage and conservation, as well as a good knowledge of the principles and practice of retrofit to older and traditional buildings.
- The CAD Technician will work closely with Project Managers and the Capital Works Manager to assist with delivering projects on time, to budget and to the required quality by ensuring that drawing sets and other associated planning documents are produced in a timely manner and in line with the agreed programme and priorities.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Must be proficient in using Autodesk AutoCAD 2020 (or latest upgrade) in order to produce accurate, annotated existing and proposed elevations and floorplans
- Must be able to undertake measured surveys of buildings both externally and internally using suitable geo-spatial and measuring tools
- Must be familiar with planning application processes and associated documentation required. A familiarity with the principles and practices of working with and in heritage buildings would be advantageous
